Comparisons

Juki Pearl MO654DE has automatic self-threading lower looper, adaptor for converting to 2 thread for finer roll hems/flatlock stitching/decorative stitching, and the safety feature of machine not being able to run the machine unless all the doors are closed. So, fingers can't be in the loopers underneath. Otherwise same as this Juki Garnet 644D. The Juki MO-644D Overlock/Serger is essentially the same machine as the new Bernina 700D with lay in tensions and older Bernette Funlock 006D both made by Juki in the same factories as the Juki MO600 Series. We prefer the round tension knobs on the Juki brand because they are closer to the needles and loopers, and threads stay in tension longer on the round knobs. Juki is the world's largest manufacturer of industrial sewing machines and sergers. They make Juki and Bernina Sergers and all of Singers computer sewing and embroidery machines from the XL5000 down.

F.A.Q.

What is the difference between the Juki MO644D and the Juki MO644_ models?
 Both Juki models feature 2-needle, built-in rolled hem, however, the 644D model has differential feed.

Which is the best type of serger to buy?

It all depends on how you would use a serger.

Most all sergers do roll hems and differential feed, so the difference is how many threads you might use.

Some sergers even have the coverhem stitch with 2 or 3 straight stitches on top and a serger stitch on bottom. Juki has the best of all in the new MO735.
