We service machines in our stores. Mass merchants do not have tech service or repair departments for your equipment. They are unable to help you directly, only referring any operational, mechanical or electronic questions back to the manufacturer instead of taking care of the problems themselves. Manufacturers and customers should expect that any problems you have will be taken care of by the dealer or merchant who sold you the equipment, not by just referring your questions back to the manufacturer.
The Brother LS2300 (replacing LS2250) at Walmart for Black Friday is a straight stitch and zigzag only (2 stitches, not 20 advertised) mechanical machine weighing only 10 pounds and does not even have a buttonhole, needle threader, or drop in bobbin. much less a drop feed control, needle up, start stop, speed control, nor thread trimming like Brother has on their computer machines.
Walmart does not give any kind of instruction or service, so it has to be sent back from Walmart or to Brother for exchange or repair.
Janome 2018S would be a much better buy for our Black Friday Cyber Monday promotions. It is a Full Size 15 pounds metal frame machine made in Taiwan, not China! Has Drop Feed Controls for free motion quilting. Our customer says: "I love these machines. They run smoothly and are great for beginning sewers of whom I teach.
