The Jiffy J-2000 garment steamer has a .75 gallon water bottle. The Jiffy J-2 has a 1 gallon water bottle.
The Jiffy J-2000M is the same as the Jiffy J-2000 except the J-2000M has a metal head and wooden handle.
Thank you for your questions and we appreciate your interest. We, at Jiffy Steamer, do recommend the J-2000 for home use. This steamer offers a greater convenience for you, with a quicker heat up time, less than a minute, and an external water caddy that can be taken to the sink to fill. The J-4000 is the commercial steamer, requiring 15-20 minutes to preheat before steam is produced and the internal water tank is can be difficult to fill in a home setting. The metal head with wooden handle is more durable and will offer more heat closer to your garments; while the plastic head and handle is lighter weight to use and cooler to the touch. The interchangeable heads will provide a variety of uses in the home for you. This comes with the 6 inch metal head for steaming clothing and other household fabrics; the 12 inch metal head for steaming large surfaces for steaming large surfaces such as curtains, drapes, carpets, rugs and even mattresses; and a bent pipe with a stiff brush for steaming/cleaning hard surfaces such as tile and grout. The J-2000 or the J-4000 can be customized with any steamhead you wish, however the only option that has interchangeable heads is the J-2000i or the J-4000i, the other models’ steamhead’s are not interchangeable. How do I prevent leaking?
The steamer must be used in the vertical position only. If the hose is being held correctly and steaming and item in the vertical position, there should be no water droplets. However, as you steam towards the lower portion of a garment, you will need to extend the hose periodically to allow any condensation to go back down from the hose into the steamer base. This will also keep the hose from spitting water as well. When the head is placed in the rod set hook, be sure that the holes are faced upward when not in use.
The steamer I ordered doesn't put out the amount of steam I expected. I have a drapery workroom and I can't use it on the table because of the water spitting. Is there a steamer that will work horizontally and vertically? I have a Reliable boiler iron and am looking for that kind of steam. Can I return this steamer and get something better? Beverly
Jiffy Steamer is intended to be used upright so the steam can rise out of the hose. The steamer, if used horizontally will spit water out. The Jiffy also provides a continuous soft flow of steam, when being used correctly. Jiffy
