HOW DO YOU USE THE GRABBIT MYPAD NEEDLE ORGANIZERThe Grabbit MyPad measures 6-3/4″ square and 1/4″ thick. It’s made of super dense felt and when the needle goes into the pad on an angle, the tip will not come out on the other side.
The large colorful boxes on the MyPad designate the type of needle: Universal, Ballpoint, Stretch, etc. The smaller turquoise boxes with numbers indicate the needle size.
A flower head pin comes with the Grabbit MyPad Needle Organizer. Insert a brand new needle into your machine. Place the flower head pin in the corresponding spot on the MyPad, i.e. Universal (type of needle) 80/12 (size of needle).
FUN FACT:
Needle size can be confusing but in actuality is pretty simple. The first number is the metric (80) and the second is the US (12). The larger the number the larger the needle. If the needle is 100/16, that will be larger than 80/12. The opposite is true with thread. Thread is given a weight; 40 weight, 50 weight, etc. The larger the number the thinner the thread. Keep this in mind next time when choosing needles and thread.

SCHMETZ ELX705CF NeedleRecently there's been a lot of talk about the SCHMETZ ELX705CF Needle. What makes this needle so special? The chrome finish (CF) reduces heat and wear and aids in slipping through the fabric. This needle has a regular point. The ELX705 needle system is specially designed for cover stitch machines. The needle has a long groove on both the front and back as well as a slightly larger scarf and a light ball point. Your machine should specify the ELX705 system. Please consult your manual for the proper needle selection for your brand and model number.

CHROME DENIM/JEANS NEEDLES, SCHMETZ (5PK) DETAILSSchmetz Chrome Professional Grade needles are made for Sewists, Quilters, and Embroidery Enthusiasts who are sewing faster and more intensely than ever before. These Denim/Jeans needles feature a modified, medium ball point and reinforced blade. They are specifically designed for penetrating very thick woven fabrics, denims, or quilts with minimum needle deflection. This results in less skipped stitches and a reduced risk of needle breakage. These needles will work all household sewing machine brands and types for which needles with a flat shank are required. Most Schmetz needles include two color-coded bands just below the shank. The top color code indicates the type of needle and the lower band indicates the size. Schmetz Jeans Needles will have a blue color code on the top band. The lower color band on these needles will be different for each size. Five (5) needles per card. Needle System 130/705H.
