This tool is designed to be used with a Quarter Inch Presser Foot on a standard machine - or on a longarm machine that has a hopping foot that has 1/4 inch between the needle and the edge of the foot. Test your foot by doing some stitching on a scrap piece of fabric. For-Stitch-In-The-Ditch: 1. Line up two legs on side marked Stitch-In-The-Ditch with the seam line. 2. Place your machine foot up against the indented edge between the two legs and stitch to the other end. 3. Stop machine - and slide foot along the seam line to stitch the next section. Repeat until desired stitching is completed. For Quarter-Inch Stitching: 1. Line up two legs on side marked Quarter Inch Stitching with the stitch line you want to follow. 2. Place your machine foot up against the indented edge between the two legs and stitch to the other end. 3. Stop machine - and slide tool along the stitch line to stitch the next section. Repeat until desired stitching is completed.

What is Diagonal Seam Tape?

Diagonal Seam Tape is simply washi tape that is placed on the front plate of your sewing machine to act as a guide while you are sewing diagonal seams.

The tape is strong, thin, sticks well to almost any surface, and comes off easily. Each roll has 10 yards of tape so it should last a really long time.

The red line in the center is aligned with the needle of your machine, and the black lines on either side are 1/4″ to each side from the center of the lines, to represent a 1/4″ seam allowance. The black lines won’t replace a piecing foot with a perfect 1/4″, but act as an extra guide.

The tape removes cleanly, but I recommend removing or replacing the tape often or after each project to avoid any residue on your machine. This tape is not meant to be a permanent fixture on the machine, and long term use without replacement may result in some residue to clean off.

The free-motion quilting foot “C” is used for freemotion
sewing using the straight stitch needle plate.

Make sure that the quilting foot is attached properly
and not slanted. Hold the quilting foot in place with your right
hand, and tighten the presser foot holder
screw using the screwdriver with your left
hand.

CAUTION

• Be sure to tighten the screw securely with the
  screwdriver. Otherwise, the needle may touch the
  quilting foot, causing it to bend or break.

This free motion quilting foot has a closed toe, which keeps the fabric flat, making it a good option if you’re using a loftier batting. To use the free motion quilting closed toe foot QC:

Go to the touch-screen of your Horizon Memory Craft 12000 and choose “Sewing Applications”
Page forward to “Free Motion Quilting”
Choose “Straight Stitch 2”
Choose the “QC Foot”
If you have the blue free motion quilting bobbin case, insert this optional accessory
Attach the free motion quilting foot QC to the machine (be sure you install it on to the machine with the back bar behind the ankle, and the front bar as usual. This provides extra stability for the foot, and will keep the foot flat so that it doesn’t add any downward pressure).

No need to lower your feed dogs, the machine will do it automatically when you select the sewing application. Your machine has an automatic foot pressure sensor. When you start stitching, the sensor will detect the loft of your project and adjust the presser foot pressure accordingly. The default setting is 1mm, but you can also adjust the setting in the set program. Now, you can begin free motion quilting.

When you’re finished stitching, press the thread snips button to cut your thread, or if desired, you can leave thread tails to bury in the back of your quilt. And now, you’ve done beautiful free motion quilting through all the layers of your quilt!

This foot will quickly become your go-to presser foot when sewing straight lines. The Quilt 'n Stitch Presser Foot features a built-in stitch alignment ruler for guiding rows of parallel stitches. You can create lines 3/8" wide all the way up to 3" wide The foot has 1/4" seam allowance and is meant to be used with low shank machines.

What does it do?- The Ultimate Quilt 'n Stitch Presser Foot was designed to allow us to create perfect parallel stitching. Something important to keep in mind though, when we talk about parallel stitching we're not inferring that the lines have to be straight. The Quilt 'n Stitch is equally adept at inside or outside curves or even circles. Oh, and that idea that parallel means equidistant doesn't apply either. With the Quilt 'n Stitch we can increase the distance between succeeding parallel rows of stitches literally with the push of a button. Kind of gets those creative juices going, doesn't it? Now we can apply quilting or decorative topstitching with reckless abandon. And it will be perfect every time. Here are some of the features:
The leading edge of the Quilt 'n Stitch Presser Foot is set to measure a perfect 1/4 inch seam allowance. The rear section of the presser foot is wide enough to cover the feed dogs, resulting in smooth, even movement of our fabric for even stitch length.
The Quilt 'n Stitch Presser Foot has an integrated ruler with an alignment guide on the end. By simply pressing the set button, the guide can be moved in 1/8 inch increments from 3/8 inch all the way to 3 inches. Releasing the button locks the guide securely into place.
The presser foot is constructed of a glossy finish polycarbonate material that is both durable and extremely smooth which enables it to glide easily across our fabric.
The Quilt 'n Stitch is set up to accommodate low shank sewing machines. Separate adapters are required for high shank sewing machines.

-Parallel stitching, whether straight, free motion or equally spaced has immense creative potential. It is also very intimidating. Along with the foot, Hex Head Screw and Allen Key, I received a packet with 2 very tiny black screws and a thin Allen wrench, which I'm assuming are the Needle Grub Screw and Grub Screw driver - is this correct? – Yes, this is correct*
In the instructions, it says to replace the needle screw with the grub screw provided. Is the needle screw, the needle bar screw that holds the needle in place? If so, where does the needle grub screw go - it's so much smaller than the needle bar screw! – Yes, this is correct.* The smaller profile screw allows the customer to avoid contact with the hopping foot. If they’ve already a low profile enough needle grub screw, they can use it
Is there a video that shows how to do this process? – I’m afraid we do not currently have a video showing this installation*
I watched the video that shows how to set the hopping foot height and that seems very straightforward. It's the replacing of the needle screw with the grub screw that has me confused. Susan.

These templates will create a variety of designs that can stand alone or be used to offset and echo a specific design.
1) Place stable tape on the underside of your template at locations that would be pressure points when holding the template in place while sewing

2) Determine the desired placement of your template design within the block

3) Place the template at the beginning point of your desired design – make note of the markings on the template that you are using to create a consistent design
a. Make sure that your needle is in the middle of the foot to insure that you are sewing ¼ inch off the template edge
b. Place the ruler foot snugly against the template and pull your bobbin thread to the top
c. Begin sewing keeping the ruler foot touching the template, and tracing around the outside edge of the template
d. Once you are at the end of the template leave the needle down and move the template, line back up on the markings you selected and repeat this pattern until the end of the design, or the end of the block

4) You may also use the dashed etched markings on the template to echo and / or offset your design (see A) by lining up the template on the stitch line you just made then use the selected etching on the template to create the echo or offset design.
