"I purchased a tiltable a long , long time ago and put it away for safe keeping...and it is still someplace safe! A blip in recent neck surgery has left me partially blind and surgery could not be completed. So, as part of my personal rehab I decided to teach myself to sew again. Your serger and sewing machine tables are perfect for me. They allow me to sit normally and sew relatively pain free. I've got a long way to go but I'm at a point that I don't dread going into my sewing studio. Thank you for a wonderful product." Kathy B.

*Note: The Tilt'able works in all manufactured cabinets with inserts customized for the machine free arm. The only way it does not work is if the cabinet is not made to industry standards (i.e., a box) OR the machine is a flat bed that is bolted to the back and swings down/up in the cabinet and does not sit on a shelf. It is really better to use the Tilt Table on a table top rather than "in the well" of a sewing machine cabinet, where you cannot also use a flatbed insert in combination with the Tilt Table. Tilt your machine for pain free sewing.
Place your sewing machine on a forward angle to greatly improve the view of the needle and allow you to sit back in a comfortable position.

Per the vendor: "Tilt'able measures 18x11 and is adjustable to six angles. The newer 800 series Bernina machines are 20 inches long so should not be used on the Tilt'able unless they are secure in a cabinet well with a shelf that is fortified to hold the heavy machine. Use the lowest angle setting. DO NOT USE with 800 series on top of tables. This holds true for the new Viking (Diamond OK) and some Baby Lock machines. Tilt'able is made of polyresin fortified with fiberglass to hold up to 50 pounds."

All Bernina models work best with the lowest angle setting because the Tilt'able was initially invented for Bernina's. The six angle settings are millimeters different and create proper view with all varieties of makes and models. The measurement is not as important as the model with the proper angle so that the sewist is able to see the presser foot and needle without bending forward and dropping the chin. Best when stitching out an embroidery design that the machine remains flat.

How can I use the Tilt'ableTM; when my machine is in a cabinet?
The Tilt'ableTM is designed to fit into manufacturer-designed cabinets. Simply lower the cabinet platform by 1/2 to 3/4 inch, and place the Tilt'ableTM inside underneath the machine so that the front of the machine is the same height as the cabinet surface.

How can I use the Tilt'ableTM with my extension table?
The Tilt'ableTM works great with both brands of extension tables currently available nationwide. To use with the Sew-Steady Table (black legs), call 1-800-837-3261 to order custom extension table legs. To use with the Add-A-Table (small gray or white legs), simply replace the bolt on the left rear leg with a 3 1/4 inch long bolt with a 1/2 inch diameter head, (costs about 50 cents at a hardware store).

Which tilt setting is best for my machine?
The lowest tilt setting (the innermost notches on the back of your Tilt'ableTM) was specifically designed for Bernina sewing machines. All other machines work well on any setting which gives you the best view of the sewing area, taking into consideration factors such as the height of your sewing table and chair.

Won't the fabric slide off in my lap if my machine is tilted?
No, the presser foot keeps your fabric firmly in place.

Is it hard to get used to sewing with the sewing machine tilted?
No! Try it and see! You'll wonder why nobody thought of it before.

Will it affect the sewing machine computer, or embroidery unit?
No. The sewing machine engineers have assured us that tilting has no effect.

What if I get the Tilt'ableTM home and for some reason it doesn't work for me?
Ergonomic Advantage supports its dealers in providing 100% customer satisfaction.

Who thought of this idea?
Drafting boards and slanted computer keyboards have been around a long time, but it took two sewing professionals, Anna Zapp and Nora McCray, to realize the same principle works in sewing too! After years of sewing 8-10 hours per day, the high toll of neck, shoulder, back and hip pain led Anna and her friend to begin tilting their machines, although neither knew the other had also arrived at this solution. They put their heads together, became business partners, and set out to tilt the whole sewing world!

I had been wanting a portable sewing table. I went to a sewing retreat and one of the women had one but she had hers for some time and couldnt remember where she bought hers. I was lucky to find your site. Hope to use it for years and enjoy sewing without pain in the shoulders and neck.
