The cover stitch series machines are ideal for constructing projects from fashion tops to competition ice skating costumes. The cover stitch is a serger type stitch made without the knives (no fabric is cut), so it can be used not only to finish hems, necklines, collars and cuffs, but also for decorative effects in the middle of the fabric. Cover stitches can be made with two or three needles. If the Bernina LCD panel goes out, you cannot see what stitch you have selected displayed on screen. The swing out foot locks the machine hand wheel in place. 4-21-21-- This case base naturally tapers from the top to the bottom. This is why there’s some discrepancy between measurements. We did a second measuring this morning based off the inner base of the case. These are: 13.5” L x 10.5” W

It seems in our book we “split the difference as higher to the top of the base the measurements are greater. So from the inner bottom of the base to the top of that base is 13.5”- 14.5” L and 10.5” – 11.5” W.

Organ ELx705 are Chrome finish although the word Chrome or letters CF are not on the package.
Many Organ needles are Chrome finish which you can tell by their very shiny appearance.

This is an ELX705 needle with a regular point. The ELX705 needle system is specially designed for cover stitch machines. This needle has a long grove on both the front and back as well as a slightly larger scarf and a light ball point. The chrome finish (CF) reduces heat and wear and aids in slipping through the fabric. Consult your manual for the proper needle selection for your brand and model number. 100 needles per box.

  The Brother 2340CV is a more economical model, offering a wide 6mm, triple-needle cover stitch and a chain stitch. Because they only do these two types of stitches, they're extremely fast—up to 1,000 stitches per minute—and much easier to set up and use. They look more like regular sewing machines, and offer familiar features that make them easier to use than sergers.

  The cover stitch is a serger type stitch made without the knives (no fabric is cut), so it can be used not only to finish hems, necklines, collars and cuffs, but also for decorative effects in the middle of the fabric. Cover stitches can be made with two or three needles. For example, a double needle cover stitch will show two lines of straight stitching on the top of the fabric with the two lines joined by a looping stitch on the bottom side. Because both sides of a cover stitch are finished, it looks great with decorative thread.
