I have been told not to get magnets near my computer or computer disks. Isn’t my embroidery machine a computer? Won’t magnets damage it?

Extensive research has shown that the position of the magnets on the frame while embroidering does not cause any damage to computerized embroidery machines. This has been thoroughly tested with no adverse effects. The metal frame absorbs the electromagnetic pull which, while strong enough for hooping, is not strong enough to go through this field. Most home embroidery machines do not have magnetic fields in the actual embroidery module itself.

Magnets can damage magnetic computer data, therefore, use caution. Do not put them in direct contact with diskettes, and memory sticks. Some design cards are susceptible as well. To be on the safe side, watch where you put your magnets! The manufacturer of the Magna-Hoop does not take responsibility for damaged diskettes, memory sticks, design cards or other media that is damaged due to user error.

I have had my needles break and my machine thrown out of alinement because there is not enough space allowed for embroidery area. Is there some way I can have the magna hoop cut out more to make it bigger?

First of all, we, as the manufacturer of an aftermarket hooping tool, are limited by the sizes of the machine manufacturer’s hoops. There is not sufficient room in Janome’s (and others) to develop a Magna-Hoop which can utilize the full sewing field of the hoop; we have to have enough room for the metal base plate for the magnets to attach. Therefore, the sewing field is not the same as your full sewing field without the Magna-Hoop inserted.

Let me reiterate the following information which can also be found in the printed instructions received with your Magna-Hoop. Once you have loaded the design into the machine and positioned the hooped item on the machine – you MUST trace the design to ensure that it fits in the sewing area of Magna-Hoop. Printed templates are also helpful to determine if the design will fit. The embroidery machine has no way of determining if or which Magna-Hoop frame is on the machine and we have no way of telling it. Therefore, the embroiderer must make the determination of whether a design will fit or not. I find it helpful to lower the presser foot and trace a second time before stitching.

I've ordered from Allbrands before and I'm completely satisfied with the products and service.
