"Austin Air Healthmate Jr.rnNovember 10, 2003rnThe Austin Air Healthmate Jr. is a three-stage air purifier that also includes a pre-filter. A HEPA filter removes 99.97 percent of airborne particles as small as 0.3 microns while a carbon/zeolite deodorizing filter traps odors. A larger than normal amount of activated carbon and zeolite (6.5 pounds) is used in the latter filter to absorb chemicals and odors, making this unit especially helpful for people with chemical sensitivities. The pre-filter traps large dust particles. The unit is recommended for rooms up to 700 square feet in size. All parts, including the filters, have a 5-year, prorated warranty and are vacuum cleanable. Combined with the unit�s average upfront cost and efficient electricity use, this unit is one of the least expensive to operate. On its highest fan setting, this large-capacity air filter uses just 80 watts of electricity. The Healthmate Jr. will plug into any vertical-prong, grounded 120V/15A outlet and, at just 18 pounds, is easily transported. It is available in three colors: black, white, or sandstone"rn
