About Vapor Steam Cleaning
Vapor steam cleaners use a boiler to heat tap water to high temperatures (240 to 310 degrees) causing the water to be transformed into a very fine, dry mist. The vapor is made up of about 5 to 6% water, so surfaces dry quickly. The vapor particles are much smaller than steam particles allowing the ability to clean in tighter spaces. In 2005, the University of Washington tested a vapor steam cleaner and said “the steam vapor’s low moisture and high temperature provides deeper cleaning because it penetrates into the pores and crevices better than topically applied cleaners”. Since steam vapor cleaners use no chemicals, there is a benefit to indoor air quality, no hazards or risks from using and storing chemicals, and no harmful chemical residue left after the cleaning process.

Recently, green cleaning has been gaining interest and popularity in the quest to end our reliance on disinfecting chemicals. Technology has provided us with vapor steam cleaners to combat mold, bacteria, viruses, mildew, and fungus without the use of chemicals.

What is vapor steam cleaning? What is the difference between a steam cleaner, and a vapor steam cleaner, and vapor steam cleaning system?

These are all terms used to describe a process that produces steam, used for cleaning. Steam is produced by heating tap water to high temperatures in a sealed boiler, which intern produces pressurized high temperature dry vapor for effective cleaning.

I have noticed a variety of specifications, options and prices for vapor steam cleaners. How do I determine the best value when considering purchasing a steam cleaner?

Steam cleaners range in price, depending on the quality of components, performance and size.

High-end, large industrial steam cleaners are designed to produce dry steam, at high pressures. They operate on a continual basis, without having to turn the machine off and wait for a cooling down period to refill water. Typically industrial steam cleaners are used for specific commercial applications such as restaurant kitchens or auto mechanic's shops, etc..

When designing the MR-100, we researched commercial grade systems to assess the features and specifications to focus on in order to produce the highest quality residential grade vapor steam cleaner.

Our research concluded an operation time of 50 +- 10 minutes (depending on the adjustable steam flow rate setting), was ample time for most cleaning tasks. A stainless steal boiler was implemented in our design for durability and corrosion resistance. The MR-100 produces a dry steam and pressure like the commercial grade models.

The lower end models typically produce a wet steam and lower pressure with limited operation time. A good residential or entry commercial machine should produce a dry steam and allow adjusting for output pressure with a longer operation time between filling.

The last, but certainly not the least consideration is safety. Most lower end models have no safety shut off system and are not ETL or UL approved. This is definitely something to look for. These machines operate and depend on steam pressure, which can be dangerous.

I've seen "steam mop" and "H2O mop" commercials on television. Can the MR-100 clean floors like those products do?

Yes, the MR-100 includes attachments to clean floors. One key advantage of the MR-100 is that it is a complete cleaning system with multiple attachments allowing for unlimited uses. We are constantly discovering new ways to use the MR-100.

The picture on Vapamore's home page looks like a vacuum cleaner. Does the MR-100 also operate as a vacuum cleaner?

No, The Vapamore is not a vacuum or carpet extracting machine, but rather a multi use steam cleaner and sanitizing tool with hundreds of uses around the home, garage or office.
