The Fit Made Easy Sewing Book is filled with sewing and fitting guidelines, gathered from our 20 years experience in fashion design, wardrobe for television, pattern making, and sewing. By following the simple principles contained in this book, you will learn the secrets and tricks that the experts know, and your creativity will soar to new heights as you carefully follow and consciously break the rules.

Not only will you understand the cut, look, and feel of beautifully made clothes, but by comparing your new pattern to the initial commercial pattern, you will see what a "three-dimensional fit" looks like on paper, and you will be able to easily make the alterations to fit your needs at your own pace. Some of the most celebrated universities in the United States and worldwide use the knowledge acquired from this workbook in their advanced classrooms, yet the steps are simple and easily understood even by the most novice designer. In today's fast-paced environment, technical departments often focus their efforts on patternmaking sometimes avoiding the most essential and basic part of fashion, "fitting".

Many pattern making companies have tried to resolve the issue of patterns that do not fit, but the truth is there is no way to adjust a commercial pattern to fit your exact measurements and shape, unless you make the alterations right on the person or on a dress form that duplicates your body. Whether you are fitting for women, men, juniors, kids, seniors, physically asymmetrical, or wheel chair bound, the steps in this workbook will show you the way to Fit Made Easy©.

Fit Made Easy will turn your sewing experience into a walk in the park.

More Information regarding the Optional Fabulous Fit Pads system:
From Maryland, NY, US: "I'm learning garment construction the hard way...by diving in and doing it. I'm healthily endowed on top and nothing (ABSOLUTELY NOTHING) fits me. I'm so tired of not being able to find off the rack ready to wear that fits me properly and decided to learn to sew to make my own garments. Unfortunately, I found I was having the same problems with store bought patterns-nothing fits. I knew I needed to learn how to properly fit a garment with my exact measurements and this is one of the books I bought to learn all I could about this skill. First, I read through Fit Made Easy and recognized the expertise of the author, but I just couldn't quite get a handle on the concepts and thought that this book must be one of those books that is written by maestros for virtuosos. Nevertheless, I began working on my next project and then...the lights started coming on. Without being really conscious of it, I realized I was paying more attention to how I laid the pattern pieces onto the fabric and making sure that I was honoring the grain and cross grain lines...that in itself helped like your read about! Before, I was trying to get as many pattern pieces on the fabric leaving as much left over fabric intact as possible like I remember my mother doing. Then, other little tidbits started bubbling up to the front of my mind, I'd remember some little morsel of info and lo and behold, the concepts started to crystallize. I'm slowly beginning to "see" problem areas and solutions. I can also "see" that this is going to get better with experience. I highly endorse this book, even if at first you feel the concepts are over your head. They're really not-and that's coming from a rank beginner. For me it's a "You don't know what you don't know" thing. Don't be afraid, be willing to roll up your sleeves and work through the problem areas. I'm glad I found this book and happily recommend it to you!"

I was very pleased with the pricing as well as the shipping time. A store that I went to that's an hour away from my house is affiliated with the items that I purchased. But the brand that they carry we're on backorder and would not be shipped out until May. I was very excited to know that my full body dress form will be delivered to me in just a few weeks, after ordering it online that same day. as well as my Fabulous Fit sizing kit.
