This base to support ruler work must sit and rest on your quilting frame carriage platform, not on rails as some quilting frames are constructed. Unless your frame has a carriage platform, there is no support for the ruler base to sit on.

While our Sew Steady Long Arm Table (sometimes referred to as a ruler base) has historically been offered for long arm machine, we’ve seen many customers use their domestic machines on quilting frames. We would be happy to offer a Long Arm Table for domestic sewing machines.

  Note: Custom Made to Fit Around the Freearm or Flatbed Surface of Your Brand and Model Sewing, Embroidery and Serger Machines. If your sewing machine drop in bobbin (top load) cover does not come straight up and off the needle plate (if it slides toward the operator) or if your bobbin case is underneath to top of the arm (front load), you will need to remove the extension table to replace a bobbin.

  Our Long Arm Tables are designed to be used with a quilting frame with a platform (or carriage) which the Long Arm machine sits on. If the quilting frame does not have a platform (if it has rails), then we are unable to supply a Long Arm Table at this time. You may check with your Long Arm machine or quilting frame manufacturer for an alternative solution
  
  If Sew Steady is not familiar with your model of machine, we will contact you for more information. Please note some orders if the dimensions are on file, and a new ruler base must be entered into the manufacturers machines could have a custom order fee. You will be contacted before approval, if you wish to continue in these instances.

Our Long Arm table aka Ruler Base is ideal for providing extra work space on a long arm machine sitting on a frame with a platform. The table often requires that the machine move forward or back on the frame to allow the brackets to lock into the platform and keep it in place while in use.

SEW STEADY TABLE DESIGN STANDARDS:
All of our tables are designed based on having the accessory tray removed from the machine. We position the machine to have the needle around 5”-7” from the front edge of the table. The table encompasses the entire freearm/flatbed sewing surface (does not wrap to the far-right of the machine). If your machine free arm slopes downward and has contours we may choose to design the table to hover over the slope to ensure a perfectly level, smooth sewing surface. If you have a top loading bobbin and a sloped machine this may affect your use. Please contact us in advance for other options. If you are purchasing a Deluxe Table then the holes do not need to be in line with the needle to make circles.

Parts and Installation

While the legs are adjustable, our Long Arm Tables come with brackets to secure our Table to the quilting frame’s carriage so it travels with the machine.
