Old Style Industrial Clutch Motors

A Clutch Motor has an on/off switch which makes the motor run. You press the foot pedal or treadle to activate stitching. It generally creates a louder sound, and uses more energy than the newer Servo Motors. Clutch motors have one speed which is specified in the RPMs (Revolutions per minute). We suggest the newer Servo type motors which have adjustable RPMs, and are more versatile all around.

Note: If you are considering a servo motor replacement for clutch motor to get better control over speed, remember that the slower the speed on the servo motors the less torque you get. It is to be considered when dealing with long arms and some walking foot machines depending on the density of the materials being sewn. Joe
