The Q-Zone hoop frame is a quilting frame that allows you to use your own sewing machine for free motion quilting. At four and a half feet, this frame is much smaller than a standard long arm quilting frame, making it easier to fit into your sewing room or any room in the house. Even given the smaller size of this frame, you can still quilt king size or larger quilts on this frame by adjusting the quit over the frame, rolling and clamping it in place and working in sections at a time. Stitch Modes

Precise - In the default precise mode, you select the stitch length you want and the machine will adjust to help make more consistent stitches. It only stitches when you move the machine, which aids with patterns that have corners or crisp points.

For best results when winding a bobbin, Grace recommends 50 weight polyester thread on a cone.
Edge Warning
The edge warning alert system helps you stay within a “safe area” of your quilt by notifying you when you approach the edge of a set boundary. This will help prevent the machine from hitting the rails of the frame, but you can also set boundaries around a particular block or section of the quilt. Please note the Edge Warning is automatically deactivated in baste mode, so the alarm will not bother you while tacking down your quilt.
Stitch Modes
Precise - In the default precise mode, you select the stitch length you want and the machine will adjust to help make more consistent stitches. It only stitches when you move the machine, which aids with patterns that have corners or crisp points.
Cruise - Cruise mode is helpful for continuous, smooth, or curvy designs. It does the same as precise mode, except the machine will continue to stitch in place (at the minimum speed) if you stop moving the machine.
Manual - Manual mode makes the machine produce stitches at a certain speed. It's up to the quilter to move the machine the distance needed to get the desired stitch length. This mode is helpful for small, continuous patterns.
Baste - Use baste mode to create loose, temporary stitches around the edge of your quilt top to hold layers of fabric together while quilting.

Lights, Alarms & Icons
Red Light (Needle Area)
The needle area may light up in red if:
- The machine is moving too quickly across the quilt for stitch regulation. This light can be disabled in the Settings menu (Overspeed Light).
- The machine is approaching or has passed over the quilt boundaries. This can be disabled in the Settings menu (Edge Warning Light).
Alarm (Constant Tone)
Machine is being moved too quickly for regulated stitching. Alarm can be disabled in the Settings menu (Overspeed Sound).
Alarm (Beeping)
Machine approaching or has passed over the boundaries of the quilt. Boundaries must first be established in the Edge Warning tool. The alarm can be disabled in the Settings menu (Edge Warning Sound).
Screen Turned Off
The screen is set to turn off after five minutes of inactivity. Press any handlebar button to resume quilting. The screen sleep feature can be disabled in the Settings menu (Sleep).

Lights, Alarms & Icons
Red Light (Needle Area)
The needle area may light up in red if:
- The machine is moving too quickly across the quilt for stitch regulation. This light can be disabled in the Settings menu (Overspeed Light).
- The machine is approaching or has passed over the quilt boundaries. This can be disabled in the Settings menu (Edge Warning Light).
Alarm (Constant Tone)
Machine is being moved too quickly for regulated stitching. Alarm can be disabled in the Settings menu (Overspeed Sound).
Alarm (Beeping)
Machine approaching or has passed over the boundaries of the quilt. Boundaries must first be established in the Edge Warning tool. The alarm can be disabled in the Settings menu (Edge Warning Sound).
Screen Turned Off
The screen is set to turn off after five minutes of inactivity. Press any handlebar button to resume quilting. The screen sleep feature can be disabled in the Settings menu (Sleep).

How to Place Patterns:
Quiltmotion Software allows you to use many pattern placement techniques. Once you have placed a pattern in a block on the main screen in QuiltCAD, selected the stitch option and set your preferences, you are ready to move to the remote display.
You will need to set your quiltable area on the LCD display to prevent the carriage from moving beyond the edges of the quilt or beyond the reach of the machine’s throat. This is only required the first time that you place a pattern after launching the program. It is also recommended that you reset the quiltable area after you have advanced your quilt about four times to set an accurate area. The prompts at the bottom of the display will guide you through the process.
The remote display features buttons on the left and right sides for performing various functions. For example, pressing the “Quilt Motion” button displays placement and fill methods. You use the buttons to specify the various options required for your quilting in a user-friendly manner. You can set many things on the display, including the required stitch speed.
The margin offset feature allows you to offset your pattern from the border of the block in eighth inch increments. This enables you to fit your pattern with a consistent margin all around the block. You can set the margin either at the computer or on the LCD display. You may also stretch or tilt your pattern to fit your block.
