to the top of your throat plate.
Low Shank: Approximately ½”
Medium Shank: Approximately ¾”

SS High Shank Straight Stitch Foot (CRF-SS): Machines without the ability to adjust the needle position. There are currently 3 different High Shank Straight Stitch feet for different straight stitch machines: Specify Juki TL2010Q, Brother PQ1500, or Janome MC1600P.
For the Bernina clip on shank, you must start with the appropriate Bernina high to low shank adapter in order to use any non-Bernina screw on presser feet. See Bernina adapters at the top of Recommended Accessories below. Most models of new style Bernina can actually use the medium shank Clarity ruler foot. The medium shank gives more room for adjustment on the adapter, according to Clarity.

I received my Clarity ruler foot which is specified for an HQ Sweet 16 long arm machine. After installing it, I checked it for proper alignment, and noticed it is off 1/16" from front to back. My machine needle is supposed to be perfectly centered in the foot. It measures exactly in the center from left to right, but it is 1/16" back too far when measuring front to back. Since there is no way to change the position of the needle, I tried to see if there was any wiggle room when attaching the ruler foot by screwing the hex screw with the Allen wrench, but there is no wiggle room. It is important for the needle to be centered in the foot when working with rulers. Do you have any thoughts for a solution for me?
Thanks for your time & attention.
The needle is centered in the foot perfectly. I also have a HQ Sixteen and when developing this foot in order to enhance the connective stability with the arc of the foot to the
ruler toe itself we had our engineer build up on the inside of the ruler toe. Ruler work is done on the outside of the foot not the inside. The ruler toe dia is 1/2" front to back and side to side. If she is measuring across the top of the ruler toe to the arc she is stopping at the enhancement, or she is indicating that from a visual which would look like the needle is closer to the back of the ruler toe than the front. Clarity.
Good to let customers know if other items are needed to use what is bought, like adapters needed.
