The Medallion setting continues to be a favorite for many quilt makers as it offers a center block or scene surrounded by a variety of borders. In this setting, there are plain borders that precede each pieced border to allow for change if necessary. The half square and quarter square triangles make quick work of the border and star elements. Measurements are given for each row to assist with accurate piecing. The ¼" yard of brown for star points could include an assortment of browns, or all points could be the same. The yardage shown below lists colors used in the quilt, however, fabrics of any color could be used for excellent results. The medallion is a great quilt to increase size by simply continuing to add rows. Enjoy building your Garden Medallion!
