This upper thread tension gauge is a great tool for finding and setting consistent thread tensions on your top threads! This thread gauge allows an embroiderer to adjust top embroidery thread tension. The Tajima thread tension gauge will work with both commercial and home embroidery machines. The thread tension gauge is hooked to the top thread from the presser foot and by pulling on the thread the embroiderer can determine the tension the embroidery machine is exerting on the thread. The embroiderer can then adjust top tension until the desired level of tension has been attained. This simple to use pen type tension gauge is suitable for both top thread and bobbin thread tension settings.
User guide settings:
- Ideal for commercial and home machines.
- Recommended tension settings for Glide Polyester thread are between 90-110 grams.
- Time Saver - no more wasting precious time trying to set tensions.
- Top Thread (Rayon 120/2 or tkt. 40) Tension Value 100-130.
- Top Thread (Polyester 60/3 or tkt. 40) Tension Value 110-150.
- Underthread (Polyester 120/2) Tension Value 20-35.

Pull 6" of thread through needle
Wrap the thread around the gauge hook
Pull the gauge towards you with the numbers facing up
As you pull, take note of the reading as this is the tension reading in grams. Polyester tension should be 120-150 grams and Rayon should be 100-120 grams.
Adjust you main tension knob until you get the correct reading.

- Steadily pull the gauge towards you with the window of the barrel facing up.
- As you pull, take note of the reading. These represent tension readings in grams. Polyester threads require higher tensions than Rayon. Polyester tensions 120 to 150 grams. Rayon tensions 100 to 120 grams.
- Adjust your machine main tension knob until you get the desired reading.
Once you have adjusted your thread tensions, it's always a good idea to run tests.
- First run the fill stitch test pattern.
- If you experience any top stitch looping, slowly tighten the main upper tension knob until this looping goes away (looping can also occur if your bobbin tension is too tight).
- Proper tensions for satin stitches should reveal 1/3 bobbin and 2/3 top thread color on the underside of the embroidery.
Note: Too much bobbin showing on the underside and/or showing on the topside usually means either the bobbin tension is too loose or the top thread tension is too tight

- Steadily pull the thread and note the reading on the gauge. This represents tension readings in grams. Correct bobbin tensions should be 180 to 220 grams (up to 250 grams when embroidering caps).
- Please Note: If your gauge is shown in units of 10's, the correct bobbin tensions should be 18 to 22 grams (up to 25 grams when embroidering caps.)
- Adjust the bobbin case spring tension screw as needed to get the desired reading.
Note: The gauge needle should provide a steady reading. If you experience a bouncing, erratic reading it can bedue to a dirty or defective bobbin case.
Tip: Slide a business card back and forth under the bobbin tension spring to clear any dirt.
Once you have adjusted your thread tensions, it's always a good idea to run tests.
- First run a fill stitch test pattern.
- If you experience any top stitch looping, slowly tighten the main upper tension knob until this looping goes away (looping can also occur if your bobbin tension is too tight).
- Proper tensions for satin stitches should reveal 1/3 bobbin and 2/3 top thread color on the underside of the embroidery.

Fixed Double Folded Bias Binder Attachment: No Screws Included to fasten to machine bed. Its the same thread size as your foot to presser bar screw.
*Binder is adjustable left to right with screws on the sewing machine bed to line up the folded bias tape to the straight stitch or zigzag needle positions on the machine.
Tape feeder mouth is adjustable front to back, so it won't run into the feed dogs or presser foot while sewing.
It is best to stitch in place at end of sewing so that the binder is not pushed back by the material when trying to reverse stitch.

The SYNC synchronizer kit comes with two shoulder screws that are 7MM and 8MM diameter. The screws fit in the end of the upper shaft and hold the hub in place. Remove the existing screw and measure it to be sure of the size, before ordering motor with SYNC or SYNC by itself. SYNC does not fit on some older Consew and Singer that it cannot be installed on.
Needle stop down is good for turning corners, Needle stop up is better for inserting and removing materials under the foot and needle.
*Pair your 6000SM servo motor with SYCH needle stop position synchronizer for precise control of your sewing operation. SYCH will not fit the some models of older Consew (see below) and Singer (31-20)

SEWLINE SLS-2000 Sewing Machine Servo Motor Info and Demo.I recently installed a Sewline SLS-2000 Servo Motor with needle positioner on my Consew 226 and thought I'd post some info on this motor since I couldn't find much when I looked. I'm very happy with it and all its functions and power.

The SYNC synchronizer kit comes with two shoulder screws that are 7MM and 8MM diameter. The screws fit in the end of the upper shaft and hold the hub in place. Remove the existing screw and measure it to be sure of the size, before ordering motor with SYNC or SYNC by itself. SYNC does not fit on some older Consew and Singer that it cannot be installed on.
Needle stop down is good for turning corners, Needle stop up is better for inserting and removing materials under the foot and needle.
*Pair your 6000SM servo motor with SYCH needle stop position synchronizer for precise control of your sewing operation. SYCH will not fit the some models of older Consew (see below) and Singer (31-20)

*Attention Consew Owners!Just a word of caution regarding our synchronizer and the Consew model sewing machines. Our synchronizer comes with 2 size of mounting screws, 7mm & 8mm.
The diameter of the shaft of the hand wheel of the Consew models have changed over the years so it is best to ask the Consew customers of the diameter of the shaft of their machine to make sure that either the 7MM or the 8mm screw will fit. Reliable Note on Consews: Please remove the screw on the hand wheel and measure the diameter of it.
If the diameter is either 7 mm or 8 mm then our synchronizer will fit. If not, it won't fit.
Unfortunately Consew over the years have changed the diameter of that particular screw size and we would not know which size you have.
