The latest fad in holiday gatherings for the last few years has been Ugly Christmas Sweater parties! There are contests to see who is wearing the ugliest holiday sweater, and boy, there are some doozies. We wanted to create our own ugly sweaters, and had a big art meeting to figure out how to do it. Believe it or not, this was a tough collection to design. At Anita Goodesign, we are so used to creating beautiful embroidery designs that it was daunting to design something intentionally ugly. Then we had the idea to create a series of designs and borders that, by themselves, are actually quite nice, but, when combined together with embellishments and trims, they turn out, well, rather ugly. There are Christmas unicorns, elves, snowmen, and other Christmas favorites. You will have a lot of fun with these designs. Since the designs are actually beautiful, you do not have to create an ugly sweater, you can create a nice one. I have only one question: I wonder if the first ugly Christmas sweater was done on purpose?

This is our new spin on an advent calendar. There are 25 different freestanding designs that can be used to countdown the days until Christmas. They are created entirely in your hoop, and they all include a pocket in the back that you can use to insert small gifts, candy, or notes. The tags can be displayed on a wall, in a frame, bulletin board, or even on a tree. Using simple tools like twine and mini-clothespins, you will be able to create an amazing project!

Keep your plants warm and cozy this holiday season with our Christmas Plant Cozies. We have created 12 designs incorporating your favorite holiday decor. This project is made with two Mix & Match compatible quilt blocks. That means that you can use any of our quilt blocks from our Mix & Match line to make these planters. The designs included with this collection look great as planters, but would also be beautiful as part of a quilt! 12 different planter designs in 5 sizes with hoop sizes ranging from 5” x 5” to 9” x 9”.
