How does the BSR work?
With the aid of technology, the BSR system reads (similar to a wireless mouse) the surface of the fabric under the presser foot. A sensor transfers information to the sewing machine as the material is moved. The sewing machine calculates the necessary sewing speed in order to sew consistent stitches according to the set stitch length.. A slower needle movement and motor speed is required if the material is moved slowly. A faster needle movement and motor speed is needed for faster fabric movement. In The BSR in tandem with the sewing machine, automatically adjusts to the sewer's speed for even and consistent stitching.

The Buttonhole Cutter with wooden block is a special tool designed for cutting open finished buttonholes of any size.
The wooden block is placed under the buttonhole to support the fabric; the chisel is pressed against the block from above. The chisel's knife is positioned in the centre between the beads of the buttonhole, and with only slight pressure, cuts through the fabric directly onto the wooden block.

Ruffler # 86 is a specialist in the simple gathering and pleating of fabrics. Thanks to its variable setting options, both pleat depth and frequency of gather can be varied.
This means that Ruffler # 86 can set a pleat with every stitch, every 6th stitch, or every 12th stitch, as you choose. There’s also the option of sewing without pleating, without replacing the presser foot (ruffler setting = 0). Gathering is performed by the special gathering blade, which causes the up-and-down motion of the needle to catch a bit of fabric each time and slip it under the needle.

This foot allows you to sew along acrylic quilting templates (rulers) that are 1/4 inch thick to create decorative quilting designs such as lines, feathers, circles etc. The height of the foot’s sole makes it possible to quilt along all the edges of these rulers. The #72 foot is for BERNINA domestic machines new style. Old style BERNINA machines need to use the BERNINA #77 Adaptor Shank (old style) with a Westalee Low Shank Ruler Foot.With this technique, the feed dog is lowered and the fabric with the acrylic ruler is guided manually with the base of the foot resting against the edge of the ruler. - Invisible securing when starting or ending embroidering: At the beginning and end of the design, securing stitches are sewn in the stitch direction so they are not visible.

to attach the ring to the foot without breaking the thread.
There are etched lines, ¼" apart as well as etched
horizontal and vertical guidelines.
The echo clip fits around the soles of Ruler Foot #72
and Ruler Foot #96 with the etched lines down. Align the
etched horizontal and vertical lines on the clip with the
horizontal and vertical markings on the foot. Push the clip
up onto the foot. The small lip on the bottom edge of the
echo clip holds the clip securely in place.To remove the
clip, with the foot and echo quilting clip on the machine,
twist and gently pull the clip down and off the foot. If
necessary, use a flat tool in the slit of the foot to release
the clip.
Machine Settings for B 780, B 790 and B 880: Select
Foot #72 and adjust the height in the touch screen from
0 to -25. The foot will then be lifted and the moving height
is reduced to zero; the hopping action of the foot is
stopped, letting the foot stay in contact with ruler.
To stitch echoes, follow the instructions for Basic Ruler
to attach the ring to the foot without breaking the thread.

Take along all your accessories for your machine in this well-designed travel case. Three levels of foam protect your valuable feet, bobbins, BSR and walking foot in specially designed compartments. Matches your BERNINA Suitcase System in black with red trim."This case includes the perfect size cubby holes for BERNINA feet, both larger feet like the Reverse foot pattern #1D, and smaller profile feet like the Button-sew-on foot #18. The foam is stiff enough to keep the feet firmly in place. What I love best about the Accessory Case is how you have the ability to organize the feet in a way that works best for you.
At the bottom of the case is a tray that holds a total of 18 feet and two of the large BERNINA Hook Jumbo bobbin cases. I use this space for feet that I don’t use as often.
The second tray can hold 20 more feet including the Buttonhole foot with slide #3A and 6 jumbo bobbins. I use this tray for feet I use most often, and it’s easy to grab them when I need them.
The lid of the case holds more feet and includes specific receptacles for Walking foot #50 (along with the 3 soles, two guides, guide holder, and screwdriver), and a space to fit the entire foam holder for the BERNINA Stitch Regulator and accessories. Also in the lid are spaces for the Adjustable rulerwork foot #72 and the additional Couching Inserts and Echo quilting clips compatible with the foot. If you think the stuff in the lid might come out, BERNINA has a fix for that.
Included with the case is a firm foam cover for the accessories in the lid that fits snugly in the compartment and keeps everything in place.

Diagonal Seam Tape is placed on the sewing machine to make sewing diagonal seams easy with no marking lines on the fabric first! It is placed in front of the feed dogs of the sewing machine, with the red stitching line in line with the needle. The black lines represent a perfect 1/4" seam allowance, which helps guide fabric, make HST's without marking lines, and is a great help for beginners learning to sew and keeping long strips of fabric straight. Diagonal Seam Tape is washi tape, so it's strong, thin, and removes cleanly. Remove it after each project to prevent any residue on the machine. Each roll is 10 yards.

Printable Instructions for Diagonal Seam TapeWhat is Diagonal Seam Tape?
Diagonal Seam Tape is simply washi tape that is placed on the front plate of your sewing machine to act as a guide while you are sewing diagonal seams.
The tape is strong, thin, sticks well to almost any surface, and comes off easily. Each roll has 10 yards of tape so it should last a really long time.
The red line in the center is aligned with the needle of your machine, and the black lines on either side are 1/4″ to each side from the center of the lines, to represent a 1/4″ seam allowance. The black lines won’t replace a piecing foot with a perfect 1/4″, but act as an extra guide.
The tape removes cleanly, but I recommend removing or replacing the tape often or after each project to avoid any residue on your machine. This tape is not meant to be a permanent fixture on the machine, and long term use without replacement may result in some residue to clean off.
