Thompson Mini Walker from Datho Manufacturing in Lubbock Texas was the first importer of a portable walking foot sewing machines into the USA in the early 1990's. Both Sailrite, Reliable and all the other clones are copies of the original Thompson PW500 and PWZ zigzag machines. AllBrands sold the first Thompson LSZ1 zigzag model before Sailrite copied and patented the zigzag on it. The straight stitch version was not patented. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l-WbQWiQrRo
