Embroidery 101 - Intro to Machine Embroidery

This is the perfect class for beginners! We will discuss the tools you need for successful embroidery. We will cover machine safety, hooping, and basic supplies needed such as stabilizer, thread and needles. Our class project will be a holiday themed towel. Embroidery Applique for Beginners

In this class, we will applique on a hand towel. Please note: This class is for those new to applique, but who are familiar with their own embroidery machine. You should be able to easily thread your machine (including bobbin) and perform basic hooping before attending this class! For this class, we typically do a holiday themed design - bring your own threads if you desire. You will need to bring: Your embroidery machine, 5x7/4x4 hoop, stabilizer, USB stick, small thread scissors, applique scissors (strongly recommended). ScanNCut #2 - Intermediate - Canvas Workspace & Fabric

In this class, we will explore the ScanNCut Canvas Workspace and the basic features available to you in creating, editing, and using designs from the internet. We will explore how to use your SNC to create cut files for Applique and/or Quilting. You will need to bring your ScanNCut machine and a laptop. You may bring your embroidery machine as well to stitch the applique, or you may observe the teacher’s demonstration of this part (3 machines may be more than you want to haul!) Please come at least 15-20 minutes early to set up your machines. To take this class, you must know the basic operations of your SNC machine (load a pattern, load a mat, perform a cut). Come to this class to learn what you need to know to manage your embroidery design collection, navigate the web to purchase, download, and unzip files, and transfer designs to a usb stick and/or external hard drive (if you use one). You will need to bring your laptop, a usb stick and your external hard drive (if you have one). Embrilliance Essentials - A to Z

Embrilliance - Stitch Artist 1 - Digitizing for Beginners

In this class, you will learn the basics of creating your own embroidery stitch files. We will use the Embrilliance Stitch Artist, Level 1, which is "designed for a hobby embroiderer who needs to be able to create stitches without going into debt or spending much computer time". We will be working to create one satin filled design and one applique design. Students must bring their laptop or computer, and MUST BRING A WORKING MOUSE. You must also already have the Stitch Artist 1 software loaded to your computer. If you are unsure whether digitizing and/or Stitch Artist is for you, you can download the demo version of Stitch Artist 1 from embrilliance.com, but please be aware that you will not be able to save whatever you create with the demo version. Beginner Sewing - Ages 10 & Up

This is an all-day class with a quick break for lunch – please bring your own bag lunch or cash for pizza! Total class fee is $95. Kit fee $25. All fees are due when you register; call the store to register and reserve your spot! In this class you will learn the basics of your sewing machine, cut out simple projects, stitch a simple hem, sew on a button, thread your machine & fill a bobbin, as well as straight stitching and zig zag stitching. We will complete several small projects together including, but not limited to, a small pillow and pin cushion/trash container. Supplies needed: Bring YOUR machine, fabric scissors, tape measure, pins, seam ripper, marking chalk or pen, 2 bobbins, 1 spool white or off white thread. Teacher: Helen Kelly-Coco.
