RE: Corona Virus Impact We wanted to let you know we are monitoring the situation closely as it relates to the health & safety of our employees and dealers, as well as the impact it may have on our customers and our supply chain due to the Corona Virus. We plan to continue operations and product supply if circumstances deteriorate and have created contingency plans. According to the CDC and WI Department of Health, the risk to Wisconsin residents remains very low, with only 2 confirmed cases of COVID-19 through March 9. Further, good inventory management has allowed us to maintain a very strong in-stock position for our entire line of sewing furniture and much of our chair product line. Our factories are back to nearly full operation and product is in the pipeline. We will likely encounter some sporadic out-of-stock issues in the coming months, but we are confident we are well stocked for our core product lines including Kangaroos, Aussie, Wallaby Ava, Dixie and Gidget. Cabinet ships ready to assemble. Assembly instructions are included with the cabinet. You may also download the MOD 5 Thread Cabinet manual and save it to your computer. For assembly, you’ll need:
Phillips screwdriver with #2 head or power screwdriver
Hammer or mallet
Optional: WD-40 or Adjustable wrench
Machines that will not fit:
We are aware of the following sewing machines that are too large to fit into the Kangaroo II sewing cabinet.
BabyLock – Destiny & Solaris
Brother – Dream VX8500D & Luminaire Innov-is XP1
Janome – Horizon Memory Craft 15,000
Please note: The Janome Horizon Memory Craft 15,000 fits the platform of the cabinet in flatbed position (a custom insert is available) but you will have to move the sewing machine from right to left to lower into the storage position because of the extension of the front support leg of the machine. Also, the knee lifter lever cannot be used with a sewing cabinet due to the length of the lever and how machine sits on the platform in flatbed position.
Elna – eXpressive 920
Please note: The machine fits the platform of the cabinet in flatbed position (a custom insert is available) but you will have to move the sewing machine from right to left to lower into the storage position because of the extension of the front support leg of the machine. Also, the knee lifter lever cannot be used with a sewing cabinet due to the length of the lever and how machine sits on the platform in flatbed position.
The Bernina 7 and newer Bernina 8 Series models 820 and 830 are approximately 1/4″ too tall to allow the cabinet to close up fully when the machine is in the down position.
Please be advised that this list may change as new models are introduced. It is extremely important to measure your machine prior to ordering to make sure it will fit.

ASSEMBLY:
Cabinet ships ready to assemble. Assembly instructions are included with the cabinet. You may also download the MOD 5 Thread Cabinet manual and save it to your computer. For assembly, you’ll need:
Phillips screwdriver with #2 head or power screwdriver
Hammer or mallet
Optional: WD-40 or Adjustable wrench

We are aware of the following sewing machines that are too large to fit into the Kangaroo II sewing cabinet.

Janome – Horizon Memory Craft 15,000
Please note: The Janome Horizon Memory Craft 15,000 fits the platform of the cabinet in flatbed position (a custom insert is available) but you will have to move the sewing machine from right to left to lower into the storage position because of the extension of the front support leg of the machine. Also, the knee lifter lever cannot be used with a sewing cabinet due to the length of the lever and how machine sits on the platform in flatbed position.

Please note: The machine fits the platform of the cabinet in flatbed position (a custom insert is available) but you will have to move the sewing machine from right to left to lower into the storage position because of the extension of the front support leg of the machine. Also, the knee lifter lever cannot be used with a sewing cabinet due to the length of the lever and how machine sits on the platform in flatbed position.
The Bernina 7 and newer Bernina 8 Series models 820 and 830 are approximately 1/4″ too tall to allow the cabinet to close up fully when the machine is in the down position.

Like a Swiss Army knife it opens up to reveal all sorts of nooks for storage and just when you think you have seen all this storage unit has to offer it surprises you by revealing another function! The 9 drawers run 20” wide x 15 ¼” length with a depth of 3 ½” to 7 ¼”. The one bottom drawer is 20” w x 15-¼” l x 12 ¾” d large enough to hold a small serger. The 9 drawers run 20” wide x 15 ¼” length with a depth of 3 ½” to 7 ¼”. The one bottom drawer is 20” w x 15-¼” l x 12 ¾” d large enough to hold a small serger. Do you sometimes feel like you need space the size of a continent for your sewing needs? Our Aussie may not be the size of the Australian continent, but it is close! Our Aussie boasts an amazing 31.5 square feet of sewing space, when fully opened with quilt leaf and rolling caddy extended the Aussie is 99 1/2” wide by 80 1/2” deep. Don’t let these measurements scare you, when the quilt leaf is folded down and the rolling caddy is tucked under the Aussie measures 99 ½” wide x 22” deep.
With so much surface area the Aussie is ideal for quilting or large sewing projects. The large surface space also means you have plenty of room for multiple sewing machines or sergers. The rolling caddy can be placed in 2 separate locations on the cabinet and it tucks neatly away when not in use. Sew Steady Cabinet Inserts are designed to fit your specific make and model of freearm sewing machine and cabinet. The Insert fills the gap between the sewing machine and the opening of the cabinet to create a flat working surface*. Made with one of the highest grades of acrylic.
Please be careful when determining the make and model of your cabinet. It is vital to ensure the proper size insert is selected since this product is made-to-order and non-returnable. If you are unsure of the make or model, have a custom cabinet or one that is not listed, or desire a bespoke design, we will work with you to determine the right product. Please see the Frequently Asked Questions(FAQ) section below for more information.
*Please Note: Inserts are made for your machine and the width of the opening of the cabinet or table. Depending on the size of your sewing machine compared to the opening of the cabinet or table, the insert may not extend all the way around machine as shown. Machines must be smaller than the cabinet opening by a minimum 3" in depth at widest part(front to back) and 2" in length (left to right) for insert to wrap completely around machine as shown in picture.If the machine is wider or longer than these minimums we may still be able to make a Filler piece to help fill gaps and still create a smooth sewing surface. Our standard Insert design allows for approximately 1-1/2” – 2” on the right for clearance for the cords and handwheel, when space permits.

The standard is to have enough space on the right side of the cabinet opening to allow space for machine cords, to use on/off switch, and accommodate for the hand wheel to be pushed down into the cabinet. The insert is designed to be perfectly level with the free arm of the machine. If you have a top loading bobbin this may affect your use. Please contact us in advance for other options. If the machine fills the majority of the opening of your cabinet then we may have options outside of a standard full insert to help fill in those smaller gaps. If you plan to use a knee lift feature while your machine is in the cabinet, contact us for placement.
