Steam A Seam Fusible Web Interfacing for Applique and Collage
Additional Information:
Steam-A-Seam 2 is a double-sided, pressure-sensitive fusible web used in sewing and crafting to temporarily or permanently stick fabric pieces together without gumming up sewing needles.
What is Steam-A-Seam?
~Double-Sided Adhesive: Features a sticky web of glue sandwiched between two protective paper liners.
~Repositionable: Offers a tacky, temporary hold that lets you place, lift, and move pieces before applying a final permanent iron press.
~Needle-Friendly: Won't gum up your sewing machine or hand-sewing needles when stitching through the fused fabric.
~Washable: Creates a machine-washable and dry-cleanable bond once activated with heat and steam.
How to Use It for Appliqué
~Trace Your Design: Draw your appliqué shape onto the paper backing (use the grid side if applicable).
~Apply to Fabric: Peel off one paper layer and press the exposed sticky side onto the wrong side of your fabric using a warm, dry iron.
~Cut Out the Shape: Cut your drawn shape directly through both the fabric and the web backing.
~Position and Stick: Peel off the remaining paper liner to expose the second sticky side, then press the shape onto your project base. It stays in place without shifting.Permanently Fuse: Use a hot steam iron to press the final design for 10 to 20 seconds to activate the permanent bond
