icon Today we have received the 10oz materials and tested on our machine CS-26-1A, the machine can do the job as the pictures attached, please check. Thanks. Wang, Gemsy 4/13

icon Could you please confirm that you have put the thread that goes into the little hole? The hole helps to guide the thread.

It was delivered today, but it appears to be leaking oil. The box had oil in when we opened it. It looks like it is coming from a hose. It is working, but I worried this might become a problem. Any ideas?
That is a normal condition, no any problems to use the machine. Before the machine ex-factory, there was a test running in an oil pool for a few minutes for all moving parts lubrication well.
After the machine is packed into shipping carton, some remaining oil inside the machine might run down to the bottom and a little might leak to the packing carton and become dry.
That is not a problems for the machine out of carton to work normally . By the way, as this machine doesn’t has an oil bath tank like some auto lubrication industrial sewing machines with, once push the oil pump by hand to lubricate the machine, 5 or 6 push each time is OK, otherwise surplus oil might lead to the bottom and out. But even this happened, it’s no problem for the machine to work. Please study and inform us if you have more questions. Thanks. Wang

Our customer has advised that the bag closure machine arrived with oil spilled all over it and packaging. Even the spool of thread is soaked with oil. I called the customer and he thinks the oil came from the machine. He stated the box has oil on it as if it has been sitting in the oil for a while.
Please advise what needs to be done to correct this problem.

from Wang at Gemsy--I believe the condition of customer mentioned oil spilled over the pakaging is true, we have checked our stock here in Miami FL that some of this kind of Bag Closer machines have this kind of issue. But this oil spilled is coming direct from oiling the inside and outside moving parts of the machine like needle bar lubricated by hand on quality control testing before ex-factory packing.
For a new machine, the oil pump (reservoir) is empty, and do not have an oil tank for this kind of sewing machines to hold the oil. So if we put too much oil by hand for new machine testing and packing soon before the oil can be cleaned up from some outside moving parts, the "spilled" happen, we are sorry about this and will clean up the testing oil before packing later on.
On page 2 of instruction manual of this machine preparation for start: "Oiling is imperative to keep the machine in good operating condition. Pour oil in the reservoir (capacity 45cc) to begin the flow of oil to the machine, push the button of the lubricator ten times continuously before starting the machine. This should dispense enough oil for an average running of four hours under normal operating conditions. Do not run the machine without oil as it could cause a machine failure or break down."
But also do not push the button of oil pump over 10 times each time to avoid the oil spill over, see the needle bar outside can be oil lubricated is also ok. Wang at Gemsy

I'm in need of a new handheld sewing machine for our feed store. I'm considering the Rex RX261 and the Gemsy GK-26-1A machines. Of the two can you recommend one over the other as far as quality, durability, easy of use etc. Our needs will be to sew up filled paper bags of livestock feed as well as bags made from burlap. Scott, I used to work in a Purnina feed mill so know your concerns. Back then it was only Fischbein bag closers which were and still are the most expensive. The market has changed to China manufacturing at much lower initial cost, repair and replacement. Most of the bag closers we now sell are made in China and all look and sew the same, so I don't think there is any quality difference, only price differences depending on brands and distribution. The Gemsy GK-26-1A is our most popular because of the price, availability of needles and thread, and low repair* or replacement costs below. Hope this information helps. Let me know if you have any questions. John Douthat, Owner Tech, AllBrands.com
John,That’s exactly what I needed to know. We have a very old Fischbein that for some reason isn’t working right anymore. I’m sure it could be fixed but to send it off to be repaired would probably cost more than the Gemsy. So I think I’ll just order one of those through your web site. Thanks for the info.
