If you've been downloading or buying embroidery designs, you're ready for Convert It, Mac.

It's this simple; You can now view, unzip, colorize, print, thread convert and use those designs with your Mac!

Design Conversion:

•Read and view all these embroidery formats (even in zips using Convert It, Mac!:
PES, PHC, PHD, PHB, PEC, HUS, SHV, VIP, VP3, PCS, JEF, JEF+, SEW, DST, TAP, EXP, EXP+, ART, ART42, ART50, ART60, EMB, JAN, EMD, XXX, CSD, GNC, CND, PCM, PCSMAC

•Update: We've now actually tested with OS 9 and PC Designer! If you're a MacPfaffie, read more about it at www.BriTonLeap.com

•Write these embroidery formats and do sew much more!
PES, HUS, SHV, VIP, VP3, PCS, PCM, PSCMAC, JEF, SEW, DST, TAP, EXP, EXP+, XXX

•Owners of Viking Designer 1 machines can write both floppy and USB sticks using a built-in CIM utility similar to your Disk manager program!

•Baby Lock, Brother and Janome machines which usually do not like Mac-written USB sticks will work with Convert It, Mac! This works because CIM can remove the hidden Mac OS files from the stick which often confuses those machines. This process is completely automatic. You won't even know it is happening. Things just work!

•Convert It, Mac also displays these files for your convenience:
Image and text formats: BMP, JPG, TIF, GIF, TXT

Note: We often get asked if we can convert a JPEG or vector image into embroidery. But, there is no such thing as "conversion" from an image or vector file into embroidery. They are unrelated types of files. The concept is called 'Auto Digitizing' but no one has ever made it work very well. (Yet!) So, we are sorry, but Convert It, Mac is not an auto digitizing program.

Key Features Include:
  • Browse embroidery designs, images, text files and even files in zips such as those you find on the internet!

  • View as thumbnails or table view with extended information such as file date, thread usage, stitch count and more.

  • Convert designs between different embroidery formats including most home embroidery machine types. Colorize designs in PES and VP3 with thread brands. Possibilities include ARC, Isacord, Hemingworth, RA, Madeira, Sulky and many more.
  • US Warranty 30 days replacement if defective.
  • Non-US Warranty: 30 days parts and labor

icon Even if you're a digitzer, this is still the essential tool for you and all embroiderers: If you have designs on your Mac, then you need to be able to find them, view them, see their colors and stitch counts, design dimensions, etc. Imagine looking inside a zip file without opening it, viewing the design, it's stitch count, it's modification date, etc. and the thumbnail next to it shows the original art too! To use it, simply drag the design to your USB stick, or to a machine, or write a Designer 1 disk or USB. You're ready to sew. Maybe you want to print a template? Colorize the design? Convert it to a particular machine format? These are jobs that every embroiderer does, no matter what their skill level.

icon Browse designs, images, text files and even zips!
When you want to embroider, one of the first steps is finding a design for use in your machine. Without Convert It, Mac your designs have only names. The Mac's Finder can't show you the stitch count, design size, thread colors or any other information about the design.
Designs are often released in .ZIP files, which reduce the size of a collection, making it easier to download and duplicate. The problem is that in order to use designs, you have to unzip them. This usually means one of two things; now you have two copies of the designs - somewhere - or you have the knowledge and time to decide whether to keep the unzipped versions, and keep them organized.
Of course, using those designs means unzipping them. But what about those times when you get a 'Corrupt Zip Entry'? Well, Convert It can safely make use of those too, and you won't even have to know.
Convert designs between most home embroidery machine formats
Convert It, Mac is a seriously good translator for embroidery designs. It understands virtually every design, and can write at least one format that every machine out there today can understand.

icon Auto Baste will baste the rectangular outline of a design
If you have ever wanted to embroider a towel, you probably floated a layer of water-soluble stabilizer over top of the hoop. The problem is that this could use some anchoring stitches before the embroidery starts - this prevents the stabilizer from moving around. There used to be kind digitzers who would put various versions of 'basting files' out for us on the internet. Later, some machines had the feature built-in. But have you noticed that if the baste is the same size as the design, you can trap some of the basted threads under the design. The Auto-Baste solves this by making the baste stitching ever-so-much-bigger than the design. And it is adjustable.

icon Automatically create design notes, including a shopping list for your thread
The design size, stitch count, thread usage per color, and more are wonderful information to have. You can also open the TXT file in your editor, such as TextEdit.
But also, it generates a shopping list for thread; Convert It examines the threads used by the digitizer and matches them in Sulky, RA, Madeira and Isacord. Then it also provides you with the nearest three matches in each of those four brands.

icon Color Sort intelligently reduces the number of times you have to re-thread your machine
Unlike some other programs, the Color Sort feature is 'intelligent'. It won't mess up your design, but if any color is repeated, and that repetition can be avoided by sewing that color only once all at the same time, then the design sequence is changed to accomplish it. The result is the same design with fewer color changes. And you have full control over how 'picky' you want your color sort to be.

icon Mac users have been left out of embroidery for a long time - dating back to the early nineties when Pfaff had a Mac version. Why?
Much of the core technology for embroidery formats is Microsoft Windows(tm) based. In order to create this product, we had to create those technologies on Mac first. That isn't easy! It has taken over two years to make Convert it! Mac.
There are only a handful of people in the entire world who have the knowledge and skill to write software for these machines (We have two of them), so you can see why it hasn't been common. In fact, some of the biggest players in the world use our technologies in their PC software!
At events with embroiderers we routinely ask who are our Mac users. The results are typically 2-3%. And half of those have already 'broken-down' and put Windows on their Mac. Naturally the bigger companies feel fine with this. But we thought you'd prefer to have it native on the operating system you feel at home with; OS X 10.4 and 10.5 (Tiger and Leopard) And you can run on your PowerPC Macs too - this is a universal binary.
Why is Convert It, Mac so essential? I want to digitize and edit.
The first thing you need to develop when writing software for embroidery machines is the formats which are read by the machines. That is a huge process. Every embroiderer needs this because in order to use a design, you might need to see it, unzip it, convert it, find out what size it is, what are the colors, etc.
One of the most useful tools has always been conversion and cataloging software. Not everybody needs to edit, but they will need to see their designs so they can select the right one for their machines.
Convert It, Mac is all about enabling embroiderers. This product makes it possible to use your embroidery designs with your Mac and not have to fire up Windows!
Designer 1 utility now included: There is even a complete utility for Viking Designer 1 and Designer USB users! Those users have been forced to use a PC with other expensive software. Not anymore!

We have a contact form on this page at www.Embrilliance.com.
We have started a forum for Embrilliance. This will be the home for support and discussion.
Brian at BritonLeap.com, how can we get technical support to our Embrilliance customer below who is having problems loading the software on her computer?
First, any customer can come in through our support system at embrilliance.com and when your team needs help, invite the customer to do so. The customer would be best served by downloading the current version from the Downloads page at embrilliance.com. All discs are verified here before shipping. So there could be a hardware issue on the customer's CD drive, or security program, or maybe the disc has damage. The list is impossible to shorten, and any way it goes, the best solution is to download it. Cheers,
Brian

Does your software run in OSX version 10.5?

You betcha. Tiger (10.4) and Leopard (10.5) and Snow Leopard (10.6) compatible!

Does it run on a PowerPC Mac as well as an Intel Mac?

Of course! No issues. It's a universal binary, which in Mac speak, means it runs on both.

Can I use designs I download from the Internet?

Yes! Convert It Mac can read virtually any embroidery design you're likely to find. Then you can convert it to the format for your machine and copy it to a floppy or USB stick etc. You don't even have to worry about .ZIP files because CIM makes that seamless. Most of the time you won't even know you are zipped.

Can I print a full-sized template to place my designs on the fabric?

Naturally CIM can print a template, along with crosshairs for centering.

I Have a Designer 1. Can Convert It Mac help me?

Yes! The original D1 used a floppy disk which requires a set of folders and files to be written using a special program. Convert It Mac does the same job without Windows. The only caveat is that for some reason, the Mac's DOS format is still not recognized by the machine, so use preformatted diskettes or format them on a Windows PC.

The D1 USB has a set of vfd files that go on a USB stick. Yes, Convert it, mac duplicates the software to read and write these files - with no caveats!

There is also the Designer SE, which uses files simply placed on a USB stick. Convert It Mac is perfect for owners of these machines. Diamond users also have this luxury!

What about Bernina machines?

If you need to connect your machine via cable then you will still need to run the Windows Bernina software for that. However many of today's Berninas, for instance the 830, use EXP on a USB stick. There are some extra color files that are optional which commonly get referred to as EXP+. Convert It Mac reads and writes EXP. It also reads EXP+. We'll have a free update shortly that writes the additional color information too.

We have customers happily using Convert It, mac with their 830!

Often we get asked to write ART. Although Convert It can read ART, it does not write ART. Instead it writes the native language that Bernina machines read, which is EXP.

Baby Lock or Brother?

Yes! Convert It Mac can read virtually any embroidery design you're likely to find. Then you can convert it to the PES format for your machine and copy it to a floppy or USB stick etc. In some cases you can directly save to the machine.

Note that some machines require a special memory card to be read and written. This requires a hardware 'box'. Unfortunately all the 'boxes' on the market are Windows based. If we get enough requests to do so, we have the ability to run some boxes from our software and would consider putting it in. It just depends on how many users there are out there.

Are you going to write more programs for Mac embroidery?

We're working on a merge-and-letter package that will enable you to combine designs and type in lettering with pre-digitized fonts. We currently have about 150 fonts to use. And we have a digitizing program in the works too. I guess how much more we do depends on how much you Mac users support our efforts.
