This beginner sewing class is designed for those who are new to sewing and/or want a refresher
on machine sewing basics. Participants will complete an 18”x18” envelope pillow cover using
straight stitch or zigzag stitching.
Foundational sewing techniques will be practiced step by step, building confidence and comfort
with the sewing machine. Recommended essential supplies for a successful sewing journey and
fabric choices will be covered.
Supportive Environment
In a supportive, hands-on environment, participants will learn how to properly thread a sewing
machine, wind and insert a bobbin, practice straight stitching, discuss fabric choices and prepare
and construct a pillow cover.

Participants will master straight seams, pushing out corners and sewing a double fold hem.
