In this hands-on workshop, you’ll sew a custom-tailored T-shirt from start to finish. No more guessing sizes or settling for “close enough”-you’ll learn how to shape a garment to your exact body and style. By the end of class, you won’t just understand the process-you’ll walk out wearing a T-shirt you made yourself.
We’ll guide you through every step, from taking accurate measurements to drafting your own pattern, cutting fabric, and sewing it all together with professional techniques. Whether you’re new to sewing or ready to level up your skills, this class is designed to make the process approachable, creative, and rewarding.
In this class, you’ll learn how to:
-Take precise body measurements for a custom fit
-Draft your own pattern using freesewing.org
-Cut fabric with confidence and accuracy
-Sew stretch fabrics using a serger for smooth, durable seams
-Finish hems with a coverstitch for a clean, professional look
-Confidently operate a serger and coverstitch machine-perfect for beginners
-Evaluate and refine fit for future projects
All materials are included-no prep required. You’ll work with soft, organic Texas-grown jersey knit in a range of colors, along with matching thread and all necessary supplies.
Each student will also receive a T-shirt sewing booklet to take home, so you can recreate and refine your design long after the class ends.
