In this class, you will learn how to use strip quilting techniques to create 4 mini log cabin blocks, which will then be sewn together to make your choice - either a pillow or wall hanging! Once you register, you will receive a call from the instructor regarding choosing your fabrics, and your kit will be ready and waiting for you on the day of class. Geared to those who are familiar with sewing but new to quilting. Bring your sewing machine with a walking foot attachment plus basic sewing tools (scissors, pins, ruler). This is an all day class open to children and adults alike! Bring a sack lunch each day - we will have a SHORT lunch break - and lots of fun!. Total class fee is $95. Kit fee $25. All fees are due when you register; call the store to register and reserve your spot! In this class you will learn to read a pattern, cut out simple projects, stitch a simple hem, sew on a button, thread your machine & fill a bobbin, as well as straight stitching and zig zag stitching. We will complete several small projects together throughout the week including, but not limited to, a small pillowcase and sewing caddy (pin cushion/trash container). Supplies needed: Bring YOUR machine, fabric scissors, tape measure, pins, seam ripper, marking chalk or pen, 2 bobbins, 1 spool white or off white thread. Teacher: Helen Kelly-Coco.
