Purchase the Bernina Open Embroidery foot to create beautiful appique and embroidery such as Richlieu, linework, and for sewing on trims and embellishments. Use the Open Embroidery Foot for embroidery such as Richlieu and circular embroidery with your sewing machine.

This foot has a wide variety of uses in decorative work, including embroidery, appliqué, satin stitch, monograms, quilting and cut work. The front of the foot is open, giving clearer visibility. The bottom of the foot has a wedge shaped indentation, which allows even satin stitching to glide under the foot without dragging. The angle in the indentation makes it possible to turn curves easily. The toes of the foot are shorter, compared to a regular zigzag foot, for greater maneuverability while sewing (you can turn the fabric more easily for smoother stitching lines, an important asset when embellishing fabric.)
Has a wide opening at the front of the foot for a clear view of the stitching area
Wedge-shaped channel under the sole of the foot ensures perfect fabric feed over dense stitch formations
Ideal for sewing on trims and creating attractive applique.

The open embroidery foot no. 20 is particularly suitable for appliqué, Richelieu embroidery, following patterns and lines, curves and corners, and attaching various types of tapes, e.g. ribbons or elastics. The open embroidery foot no. 56 comes with sliding sole for materials that tend to stick.
