{Q}I have a Brother PR I am hooping hats, and I am trying to center the design closer to the bill of the hat. I had the design sized to 2.00 inches in height. then resized to 1.80 it let me move it down a little but not much. The design just sits a little high on the front of the hat. But the machine will not let me move it down. I have looked for help everywhere and find it. Your help is greatly appreciated. Mitzi M. {A}Mitzi, I do not believe the brother hat hoop will allow you to sew closer to the bill of the hat. Some customers are now using the Durkee hat hoop below* which allows you to sew closer to the bill and higher up on the hat too. Please look at the video. John {A}John, The Durkee hoop will be the best bet for her. When the design is moved closer to the bill allowing for a lower placement of the design, it doesn't allow as much space for the needle threader to activate properly. I have had this issue and try not to move the design too close to the bill. However, the Durkee frames are a saving grace and the videos on their site are great. Hope she resolves her issue. And she will be happier. {Q}HoopTech vs Brother Cap Equipment Systems: {A{ Thank you for the question. In addition to the larger sew field, we have a few other differences. Starting with the T-Bar Framing Gauge that replaces the framing gauge from brother. Our gauge is adjustable, making it easy to lay the material down on a structured cap, unstructured cap, bucket caps and visors. It also has a T-Bar to assist in stretching the material so the customer no longer needs an extra set of hands, bag clips or rubber bands. The Gen 2 frame itself provides much better registration while holding the backing in place for the customer. The better registration means way less needle breaks and bunching of stitches. I have added links below to our best demonstration videos on the T-bar and Gen2. These should help highlight the features I have just outlined. Please let me know if you need anything else. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3IO73fwb48c&t=45s how to use the Gen 2 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yzzvcLV-pgA - structured caps i.e. Richardson https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wScd6bPM3pk - buckets ad visors using Gen 2
